Suggestions Post any suggestions for new Wyvern content here that is too complicated to explain in the idea log or that you want to first get feedback on from other players. |

Elves should get four skill points per level.
It's tough being an elf, for real. We have low hp, therefore we have to learn mana shield and train spirit, and we can't carry that much, therefore we have to train extra strength, and then there's all this other stuff we have to train for fighting too. Elves are smart, they drop good loot, they build nice houses, why shouldn't they get four skill points per level? Pixies should probably get four skillpoints per level too, but I've never been a pixie before so it's hard for me to say.
For real. |

I've seen elves on Wyvern. I am an elf.
Pft, nagas get enough. Elves are underpowered. |

The races aren't supposed to be equally hard to play. Some races are harder to play at low levels, others at high levels. Why have different races if they can all be played in exactly the same way.

Equality doesn't mean exactly the same, just equal. I understand that we have to have some weaknesses, and we have plenty, but we need more strengths.

Trust me, just because the race you play would get a boost from this doesn't mean it'll make the game more fun. This game has an excellent difficulty-to-fun ratio as it is; it's challenging enough to make it really fun, but not so hard as to make everyone quit after a day.
Edit: Misread your reply to Valkon's post, so let me rephrase that; each character is supposed to have a different feel, and in some instances, that feel will be more difficult. If they were to "balance" the character types, they'd only weaken the others, not boost one or two. Last edited by Jessikha : 04-06-2008 at 04:40 PM. |

Nobody understands what it's like to be an elf.

Then why'd you pick it? If aesthetics or personal preference guided your decision, then the "weakness" of elves is the opportunity cost.

Elves get being green and pointy ears as racial bonuses. To be honest, if they only got one skill point per level, I'd still be happy. ^_^

And humans should get more, too, because halflings have 4 skill points AND other innate bonuses. And humans should have the same hp as giants. And all the base resists from the giant classes combined. And they should be invincible.

I would also like to comment on the archer guild... why would we want to give up all melee skills and magical arts so we can have useless skills like dodge and forestry? Forestry is unnecessary because most people just fly (it's much easier) and dodge you can get from armor. We should atleast get find weakness or something, or just drop some of the negatives. All you really get out of that guild is a couple of extra range skill points. |

Humans should get 5 skill points per level!
Ok, so that is not true, I just want to be able to *** the other races. But yes, the archers guild gets nothing really, at least give them some better damaging arrows. It's even hard to hit things as an archer.

There should be enemy seeking arrows...That would help out tremendously, then you could run and shoot at the same time.

Giants should get melee resist too, because they need thicker skin to be able to handle their sizes >.>
For real.

When you brought this up in-game you were told that it would not happen as the reason Humans got more skill points were to symbolize their ability to become anything in the world where as Elves are designed to be a niche race that are are limited by what they can be in the world. There was therefore no reason to bring this up again here as you already had a final wizard response on the matter. To top it off this thread is going nowhere whatsoever and has degraded into one of sarcastic post after sarcastic post so I'm locking it. Please do not bring up the subject again - We have plans to give archers more benefits in the future, but we will not give Elves the ability to become multi-classed so they can better make it out in the world as archers or the ability to easily become any class they want.
