I know now isn't too good of time.....but here's an idea...
This is directed towards mages. Have you ever noticed how little you use the bolt spells at higher levels? I have....only times I use bolt spells rather than fireball or blizzards is when I'm trying not to destroy a certain precious loot. What mages need are either higher level bolt spells, or give the bolt spells a stronger boost in power over spells such as fireball and spray...
The way I think it should work(but I'm not saying this be worked on at all) is bolt spells should be much stronger than the cone and ball spells because if you think about it....you're concetrating all of your energy into a single direction rather than going for an area affect......either that or have a higher lore verson of bolts spells.....for fire have something like Magma blast.....I havent thought of what the others could be...... I just had to post this idea to get it off my mind......

When I played crossfire a while, I had a level 60-70 character that could sit in an ice storm all day. But I was very surprised when I encountered the frost bolt spell from darn direwolf, a couple hits and it nearly killed me (and at some other point, did).
It makes perfect sense that a spell that is concentrated would be more powerful than one that is spread out. |

You have to keep in mind that ball spells can be and usually are used multiple times at a single go.
I agree with this, though. It does seem to make sense. |

I use bolt spells all the time, almost as much as fireball. I think they're fne the way they're all. Low levels can get that spell easier than they can get fireball, so I'm fine with it being weaker also.

I agree, I tend to rely on my mass splash and smash spells such as firespray and icestorm but namely blizzard/fireball.
I actually think it would be slightly more logical to create a spell which can focus firespray's power into a singular point and propell it with intense heat creating a medieval bullet of some sought. Potency! |

this is actually a great idea. I agree with it.

i totally agree because i ONLY use bolt spells on ennal because it's
a lightning mage and there's no ball spell with lightning (thunder is mad strong when you're a air mage, but it still use reagents) |
