Default Gladiator's Guild

Basically to go with guild subjects. There has been 1 guild I've personally thought wyvern has been needing for some time. That of course would be a gladiators guild to help support those wanting to use pole arms as a primary
weapon.

Negatives
-10 magical arts
-10 elements
-10 all other melee stats
-5 meditation
-get hungry easier (gladiators get fed rations, and cheap food, etc etc)
-unable to wear body armor

For each level this is what I would like in my opinion
1 +1 polearms, +1 strength, +6% healing
2 +1 polearms, +2 healing, +1 dodging, +6% healing
3 +1 polearms, +1 strength, +6% healing
4 +1 polearms, +2 healing, +1 dodging, +6% healing
5 +1 polearms, +1 strength, +6% healing
6 +1 polearms, +2 healing, +1 dodging, +6% healing
7 +1 polearms, +1 strength, +6% healing
8 +1 polearms, +2 healing, +1 dodging, +6% healing
9 +1 polearms, +1 strength, +6% healing
10 +1 polearms, +2 healing, +1 dodging, +6% healing

total bonuses being
+10 polearms
+10 healing
+5 strength
+5 dodging
+60% health

The location for this quest can probably be in Black Rose, because it does have an arena inside of it, and the guild could end up being connected to it as the city's new "gladiator training area".

Discuss.

While I agree with you that this would be cool, I don't see it as likely- the wizards don't seem to like polearms much. Also I'm thinking the +% healing and the increased hunger would be annoying to code.

I'm not sure polearms have the equivalent in damage to any of the more common weapon classes, blades included.

If I remember correctly Polearms are a "secondary" weapon class like staves and weaker than swords, axes, blades, etc.

So polearms themselves would likely have to be buffed before a guild could be centered around it and be as viable as guilds.

Not a problem. They already have this code. Halflings go at a different rate than any other race, and Monks have a very slow rate of hunger.

Oh, wasn't aware of that.

Not sure how much the plat polearm/ glaive does...

I dont think a Gladiator's Guild should be centered around just polearms, if anything they should get staves too!

I'd prefer pole-arms be given some unique bonus and increase the diversity/selection of pole-arm weapons rather than create a guild for them. Make it so pole-arms can attack up to two monsters at once using long-sweeping attacks or something (I know, doesn't make sense for the spear type pole-arms to use sweeping attacks it was just an example to start new ideas). After all, it's been said that there isn't supposed to be a guild for every weapon type.

P.S. I thought the guild was creatively done, balanced, and well thought out.

And here I thought this was going to be a guild focused around slaying monsters in various arena's across Wyvern to earn fame, glory, silver and freedom!

Also after some quick browsing in the forums I found this: http://www.wyvernrpg.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2331
