Before someone goes and says that the advent of the firearm caused platemail and other medieval armours to become obsolete:

This is not true. The musket and other early guns actually caused blacksmiths to come up with better, stronger armour designs, and hand-cannons, pistols, and the like could only penetrate the armour at very close range.

I say this all because I expect someone to say that adding guns would make all of the other defensive technologies useless and not make sense in the game.

I have no problem with guns, although I certainly wouldn't mind if the game stayed the same as it has been.

I would like to note that there are cannons on the galleons, so it wouldn't be entirely out of place to have player-usable muskets.

It's already been said (I think, and if not, I'm saying it now) that guns wouldn't ruin the "rpg-aspect" of the game. By guns, we don't mean M16s, we mean muskets, rifles, and hand-cannons (not the same thing as the sort of cannon you're thinking of).

No one suggested lugging around a giant cannon; muskets aren't exactly huge.

As for damage, I would say piercing and blunt, or if only one damage type is allowed, piercing.

Killer toys, yes.

Flying pigs and aliens, probably.

Spaceship and moon? That is somehow something I doubt.

Muskets are okay. But no AK37s.

There's no such thing as an AK-37.

Guns are somewhere on my never-ending list of things to make. I have one in the Hall of Amazement in Coran, but I wouldn't expect to see anything be finished like that for awhile. [Who knows, maybe one day I will finish something. ]

It's a rocket to a blue moon - Doubt it or not it exists. As far as this nonsense about it not fitting Wyvern, for the last time this has always been Rhialto's vision. Binyamin has done more to help bring that about than any other wizard and his areas are always the most creative and original in Wyvern. The reason you haven't seen many of them over the years is because the majority of us are not artists so we depend on whatever graphics are out there. From day one I've always dreamed of having full and complete space areas. Just like you need a water breathing amulet under water you'd need a special suit to survive in such a place and/or you could hop onto space ships like you do with balloons to get from place to place (otherwise your move speed is extremely low). The possibilities are endless and no matter if you like them or not Wyvern is not, nor was it ever intended to be, a pure fantasy game.

Alright, if a trusted wizard says so, I'll believe it.

I just have difficulty believing the highly odd from a player known to not be exactly trustworthy for some things.
