If someone ask a totaly idiotic question that would be covered in the tutorial or basic parts of the manual like "How I attack tings lol I dun no" I'll tell them to read the manual and/ or at least do the tutorial. If someone has a bad attitude about this, I have no problem with anyone saying anything to them they damn well please, as not as its extremely abusive like "Go to hell you stupid *dodges filter*" or something like that. If someone asks a question about the abilities of races I tell them to either use basic reasoning and/or look at the races page(Unless they ask about something less obvious and obscure like the diffrence between Rakshasa and/or Elves, the I will genrally try to give them a basic rundown but still advise them to read the races page). I do pretty much the same for spells and such. If someone ask something about items, i'll try usually try to tell them to the best of my ability,Although, I hate to say it but sometimes when its becuase they don't understand a "Big word" or something slightly cryptic, (Luminous helmet or some such) I may add a little quip about them being stupid in there. I can't remember everything else and somethings have to be specific so those of you to lazy to read through this I have i'll put up a little chart of what I think is a good way to deal with people who ask questions. (Although I'll sometimes just go berzerk with insults on obnoxious ones)
[list:43feb]
[*:43feb] If some asks a question that could be solved by just BARELY skimming any kind of instructions in the game Advise them to read the manual and do the tutorial.[/*:m:43feb]
[*:43feb]If someone asks a question about something like what a certain skill does, You should advise them to use basic logic and figure it out for themselves (Not including things like when can you cast more blizzards depending on water magic and such.)[/*:m:43feb]
[*:43feb]If someone asks a Question about what items like torches and swords do, then you should also advise them to figure it out for themselves. Really, their gonna need that skill sometime in their life.[/*:m:43feb]
[*:43feb]If someone asks a question about the diffrent focuses of races and such and the diffrence is, you should try to give them a basic rundown but still tell them to make sure to check the website races pages and such as its always good to instill in them the skill of checking the website for answers first (Unless its something you know is not on the website, like starting hp/sp, you should try to help them there)[/*:m:43feb]
[*:43feb]If someone asks a truly intruiging question that could benefit Wyvern with its answer, if you can at all, you should try to help them as much as possible.[/*:m:43feb][/list:u:43feb]
I think that thats about it, and you can pretty much figure anything else out from there. You don't need to pamper anyone any more than you would in real life, although it is a good idea to be kind about it. Sometimes they need to figure out their own things on their own time even if you could answer it in a split second. I don't think its mean, even if its a bit rude. Thats my basic take on it. I hope someone finds a a good ethic they can take on their own.
Thats all for now over Here.
~Respectfully and Full of Fun, Zeofar.

I think that the Teachers' Guild should be built up and made more noticable; as is, the only way for someone to determine if a player is a Teacher is to "who" them, a command that many do not know. Perhaps if a "teachwho" command was added for anyone to use that would show all the online members of the Teachers' Guild and this command was mentioned very early on in the Tutorial, before the majority of players get tired of reading, then it would help to resolve this problem.

Somebody yelling at you becuase you wanted glowstones is completely preposturous, whoever did it needs to get some help.But Nowadays, I don't see alot of people saying completely rude things to new players all the time, although it will happen sometimes, But I usually see people treating them like they were 2 year olds. They need to be able to rely on theirselves once in awhile, which is completely my point. Alot of them think that if they have a problem, the first thing to do is ask everyone else with many exclamation points, without really thinking about thier question first. I think it is completely reasonable to expect them to do at least a few things on their own.

That's not the way it [i:d3cfc]should[/i:d3cfc]--or has to--be, though. The majority of people who stay on Wyvern long enough to become high leveled are, or have the capacity to be, rather mature, and there is, therefore, no reason for mistreatment of new players. Unlike real life, this is a game, a recreational activity, and most people don't enjoy being yelled at during those.

Crinox, it may be true that a lot of the Teachers' Guild members are simply low leveled players who just want to be in a guild...but a fair number are also alternates of higher leveled characters. I always join the Teachers' Guild on my characters, and it really doesn't make much difference because there's no way for new players to seek out a Teacher.

Personally, I find it highly irritating hen high levels (or mid levels for that matter) are rude to new players. Ever since I started I started helping other low level players. As I learned something I shared my knowledge with 2-3 others that were learning the game and they would do the same. My highest char (level 21) joined teachers at level 2 and helped 6 other level 1 chars and helped get them to level 10 before he made t to level 6. HE also helped two certain low level (Temper ***erer) when he was 15 get to level 20+ lol It seems whomever I help passes me in about 3 days. they were level 10's when I helped them now ***erer is level 22 and Temper is level 24.

Not levelling doesn't always refer to being dumb. Silico hardly ever levels and nobody in their right mind would ever call him a dunce <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Very Happy" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s --> Some people play wyvern for making pools in BRMA and so on xD

if layzee took revenge on the players that had treated him that way in the past, half of wyvern would be cut in half

like when nightswift baught a res scroll for min after telling him the average price of a res scroll was 25k when he was below level 10 &gt;.&gt;
