What do you miss most about Wyvern?
I miss the extreme diversity that it allowed. There was no "wrong" way of playing Wyvern in that you could be a pixie caveman, or stone giant mage. There are endless opportunities that Wyvern has which most games just can't match.

I played Wyvern for years and by the end of its life there were still tons of places I had never explored and secrets I had never found.
The variety in character building gave you the opportunity for a gameplay experience unique from other players', and this is a quality I find lacking in nearly every game I've played since Wyvern's death. It feels good to do something very few people have tried before and succeed as opposed to cruising along on a tried-and-true premade build, and this is something I struggle to do in games with limited character-building options. I could go on and on and on about why Wyvern was the best game I've ever played, but I'm no expert on game design and it all really just boils down to "it felt good". It hit all the right buttons to keep me interested. It had the right amount of depth mixed with the right amount of action. It was well-made. I miss it. A lot. Rhialto and the wizards nearly ruined video games for me. Nothing scratches the itch Wyvern did. Nothing compares. It's frustrating. |

Everything. No game I've played since has drawn me in as much as Wyvern did, still hopeful for a return, but know that's extremely unlikely.

On the bright side at least you all still get to enjoy your favorite part of Wyvern; a psycho wizard bent on world domination and the consumption of all player kind who would regularly taunt, threaten, and belittle you yummy fatties at the slightest provocation. You're welcome.

I miss playing the game and completely ignoring the existence of other players, sometimes if I was lucky I could even ignore Arilou's nibbling of my arms and legs.

I miss the amount of control and freedom I always felt when playing the game. The vast amount of exploration. I never truly felt bogged down by certain mechanics. I miss the dungeon crawling. I miss the distinct artstyle of the sprites. I miss the attention the detail the Wizards gave. In many instances, I look back and think they really poured their hearts and minds into their creations.

As a player, I miss the excitement of finding and exploring a new area, and trying to not die

I miss the people more than anything. The community was by and far the best of any that I have experienced in any game since.
And I miss that old rascal Biny. |

I miss logging on with my pal Hoogly and trying to play wyvern together and getting banned by Teshuvah because we are using the same IP. Good times man. If Wyvern didn't go down for 40 years we were going to film us on our two separate accounts logging into wyvern and playing until the time we got banned by Teshuvah and then submitting the video to the forums and laughing as we got our point across.

Thats weird, I remember having sometimes 4 people on my IP at once. And we never got banned.
For that. But thats what I miss, playing with my friends, doing fun stuff like turning off their resists when a medusa would cast stonewind at them. That was always funny |
