Default ineractive map editor

I would appreciate it if you could update the map editor to allow you to play through your map. So that you could find bugs through gameplay and not theory.

You know how I said the problem with player ideas is that so many of them are bad? Well the other major problem is that they're already on "the list..."

special version that doesn't listen on sockets,

Sorry I couldn't find a way to look at the list. Thanks for giving the archive for it though.

If that were ever made possible you'd have to make the test alt or what ever it would be called a fixed level for the level of difficulty of a map. Otherwise, players could try different combination's of skills/armor/race or what ever with out ever having to play the game, there for defeating the Wizard's whole explore and experiment thing they keep talking about. Just an observation.

How does this have any effect on exploring now? You'd have access to testing maps you made and other players shared with you only. You wouldn't have access to testing any of the in-game maps.

Exploring and experimenting with the different skill combinations? That's a type of exploring I believe. On another note, it would be a pretty cool little feature, you could pretty much recreate Wyvern if you were bored enough and just like run around by yourself.

Wink

I can see how this would be detrimental to a large part of the Wyvern experience. You could try every singe possible skill, guild, armor, and weapon combination at every level, and, since you would probably have access to many things at a glance that you can't see as a player (say, the current health of a monster), it would remove much more of the mystery behind many parts of the game, and a whole bunch more than the highly discouraged "stat-peeking."

Oh, as side note

It's better not to assume you'd have full access to everything (for reasons that should be obvious). But anyway, if something like this were to come around it would be a long way into the future.

you would have to be bored nearly to the point of death.... and also no you couldn't given how many monsters and items are unique, or you'd have to manage to get from other wizards.

*checks to see how many of his critters are in the map editor--finds none*

That won't help you any...
