Default Just to Annoy Salkand

So, a few years ago Salkand made this blog that nobody read where he spouted off nonsense about how he believed the world was going to end. I just noticed it in the last few months and left a scathing comment that I figured would result in him shamefully deleting his blog. Well, today I read about more doomsday nuts and wanted to link to it for laughs but, long behold, it was gone. Unfortunately for him, I was prepared this time and immediately copied every word he wrote so that it would survive his attempt to ruin my amusement. Being the kindhearted individual that I am, I would never deprive such amusement from others and so I have pasted his genius below. Enjoy.

Btw, this comment is what prompted the attempt to link to his blog: "In case you were wondering how long it would be before the dumdums once again decided that ancient humans predicted that the sky would be falling, the answer is not long at all - http://www.livescience.com/27827-pap...-theories.html"

Chapter Two: Maya; Part A: The Mayan Belief
The Mayan calendar is based upon an astrological cycle that we call the procession of the Equinoxes. This is a 26,000 year cycle that is also shared by the Sumerians, the Tibetans, the Egyptians, the Cherokee, and the Hopi. The Mayans believes that this 26,000 year cycle consisted of five small cycles each being 5,125 years long. Each cycle is said to be its own age, and to have been destroyed at the start of a new cycle.

The Mayans claimed that starting 1999 we (mankind) would have 13 years to change our attitudes and to stray from the path of self-destruction, moving onto a path in sync with nature. The Mayans knew that our sun (what they called Kinich-Ahau) would synchronize with the central galaxy causing a spark or solar flare every 5,125 years and that this would cause a displacement in the earths rotation opening the possibilities for great catastrophes to occur.
Our present cycle, which is from 3113 B.C. until 2012 A.D. is called the age of the fifth sun, and is ruled by Earth, also called Caban in the Mayan language. (each age having been ruled by one of five elements). Caban, or Earth has several meanings including, movement, shift, evolution, earthquake, navigation, synchronicity, clue tracking and turtle.

3113 B.C. is an appropriate date to start history. The first Egyptian dynasty is dated to 3100 BC; the first city, Uruk in Mesopotamia is also 3100 B.C., the Hindu Kali Yuha is 3102 B.C. and even more interesting is the division of time into 24 hours, each hour consisting of 60 minutes and each minute consisting of 60 seconds, and a circle being 360 degrees all found in 3100 B.C.. If the Mayans can so accurately place the beginning of our history, then should the end (December 21, 2012) also be as accurate?

“If Humanity Wishes to save itself from biospheric destruction, it must return to living in natural time. -Pacal Votan-7th century Mayan prophet.

Chapter 1: Introduction
An Obsession on 2012 by Ryan S. Maxwell
CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTIONS

For many centuries mankind has been obsessed with the apocalypse. This is true for recent years more so than any other time due to the upcoming date of December 21, 2012, possible the most discussed date in recent history. What makes 2012 so fascinating is that it is not just another paranoia like Y2K, where people forgot that the two on a computer is still comprised of ones and zeroes.
What makes this date so significant is the overwhelming number of prophecies that are suppose to occur on this day; The Mayans, the Hopi, the Egyptians, the Kabbalist, the Essences, the Qero elders of Peru, the Navajo, the Cherokee, the Apache, the Iroquois Confederacy, the Dogon tribe, the Aborigines, Nostradamus, Apollo’s prophet at Delphi, and the Biblical code all have a prophecy related to that day on 2012. What I am gong to attempt to do with my “book” is to go deep into each of these prophecies to see if I can finally shed some light on this much debated subject.

The end of Wyvern, start of something new.
Today I sold my house on the online game "wyvern." With this transaction I have officially retired from the game, and am moving on to bigger and better things. One thing I did today was I made a video using Kenny Rogers' song, "The Last Ten Years."

You can view this, and all my other videos at my youtube page:

I will continue to maintain my wyvern story website (www.freewebs.com/necropoliss/). So please feel free to continue sending me those stories.

The bit about Necropoliss is nice to hear, I was worried that my (almost done, hopefully) rewrite of the Enseru companion was all in vain.

Start of something new.

Retired as in, I don't play anymore, but I might drop in from time to time, and somewhere in the distant future there is a possibility I will come out of retirement, although I wouldn't hold my breath over it.

A Beginning
For those of you who know me, in real life or through the online game "Wyvern." Please note that this is not a doorway to the wonderful world of Ryan, or Salkand the happy and often randomly crazy socialist who you find to be extremely funny or annoying. This is a doorway into my paranoid fantasies. This is a doorway into my religion, my thoughts on december 21, 2012 and much more. This blog is not here for you to argue with me, you enter these doors already agreeing with me, knowing that I am right until I am proven wrong. For those of you I know are out there and who still desire to argue with me, know that your comments will be deleted and the ability to post comments on anything I write after this will be removed for everyone.

Sadly, Salkand was an adult in 2009 and I was actually always skeptical of kooky stories - My father would try to trick his kids by making absurd things up and he was always disappointed that they wouldn't work on me. So if he was a kid, I'd maybe understand, but I wouldn't be able to relate.

I really enjoyed reading this for several reasons.

You said you noticed it in the last few months and left a comment. Sorry but I never actually got your comment. The reason the blog was deleted is I started a new blog, and every time I went to update it, I got to look at that one as well, so after a week or so I deleted it, seeing as it had only four post and hadn't been updated since 2009?

Furthermore, it was titled "a tale of paranoia." Did not the title itself give you a hint of satire within the whole blog? Don't get me wrong, I was arguing seriously with whatever information I had; Regardless, a post left "in the last few months" would not have sparked me to care one way or another about that blog. I assume you found it around the time you were pestering me about that story. Probably through an internet search. Yeah, I rediscovered it myself doing that, and it sparked me to write a different blog.

Sorry Ari, but nice try.

The comment I left you was absolutely scathing and I find it hard to believe that you just so happened to decide to create a new blog shortly after I posted that. Especially given your first blog post where you declared you didn't want criticism and especially given your habit of deleting things after I make fun of you for them.

Seriously? In one breath you declare that it was obvious satire and in the next breath you declare that it totally serious. What is this nonsense?

Regardless, no I don't believe it was satire. I believe you thought people would perceive it as paranoia, hence your first post, and I believe you wanted to play it off as such to be funny. But, like you then said in your quote, I believe you seriously bought all of that nonsense fed to you by new age writing and conspiracy theorists. As I said in the comment you supposedly didn't read, it was clear to me that you had no idea what you were talking about and were just parroting things you read/heard. The second you mentioned Uruk that much was abundantly clear to me as there's no way you knew a thing about that city, period, or culture. I know your historical limitations and I'm sure that you never would have even heard the name had it not appeared in the misinformation someone else put out.

While the ribbing of players (especially ones with whom you have history) is fine, this seems like a bit much. Pulling an embarrassing post from the grave after the author removed it in order to shame them publically doesn't strike me as appropriate behavior for someone in your position.

Salkand's initial reaction seems to be damage control and not "Get rid of this thread", so I'm assuming he's alright with it.

In all honesty Iro, my initial post is exactly what it says. I started a new blog, because of that I was looking at the old one every day and decided to delete it after a while.

I didn't bother to read comments prior to this, and haven't seen whatever Arilou wrote. In terms of all right with it, I really don't care. In the nine years that Arilou has known me, i've displayed if anything a desire for any such attention I can get, both good and bad. So it's more a shock to me that anyone would believe this would annoy me.

Regardless. If I post anything, you all think I'm trying to "damage control" the situation. If I ignore it you think I'm trying to not embarrass myself or ignore what I see as a potential problem. In actuality though, the closest Arilou ever managed to annoy me are the few months he ignored me, and Its during this time that I realized that I don't care about what Arilou does, or does not do.

What position? I'm a forum mod for a game that doesn't exist. Also, if Salkand minded my making fun of him publicly all he had to do was pm me, tell me it was seriously bothering him, and ask me to stop. I'd then remove the thread and you wouldn't hear a word about our little wanna be lich from me again. I've made it clear over the years that I only do such things with the people who seem to go along with it and if anyone has a problem with it all they have to do is ask me stop in a serious manner. Salkand knows this but, as he pointed out, he has a long history of wanting attention from wizards.

To be honest, I was kinda interested about mentioning this to Salkand the next time I talked to him. Thought it would be neat to see what he thought about it after nothing happened.

The really amusing part here, however, is Arilou's shameless satisfaction at a pretty weak burn. If you're going to survey the site, you might at least mine it for some comedy gold.

What satisfaction? I presented it in a humorous way, but it should be obvious that I'm making fun of him not because this amuses me, but because it annoys me. In fact, you should have read my comment. I heavily lambasted him for thinking such nonsense (there was obviously not a single shred of humor in my words as I was legitimately disgusted).

Edit: Btw, if you're interested in hearing me berate you, you can pull up my comment via google cache.

oh, hurray and huzzah!

I was hoping someone would bring this up and poke him about how it's well past Dec 2012 and we're all still here.

Thank's Arilou.

No, I missed it. I only found out about it this year - In case it wasn't clear, I was saying "nobody" read it when he first created it (and, no, I don't mean that literally).

So, I just saw this ad that promised to fix my neck pain for me and I was all like; "Awesome! They're going to track Salkand down and kill him for me. Where do I bring my wheel barrels of money to?" Sadly, I then learned that that's not what the ad was for at all and now I'm all bummed.
