open init.txt and turn weather and temperature off. That should vastly increase game speed. [/quote:43c0d] I did. shortly after I started playing Dwarf Fortress. <!-- s:neutral: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_neutral.gif" alt="Neutral" title="Neutral" /><!-- s:neutral: -->

Re: Dwarf Fortress
I played Majesty too. Seriously, one of the best RTS-type games I've ever played. Awesome.

Just saw this thread. Looks pretty neat. I think I'll download it. From how you've talked it reminds me of a game called Majesty I bought and used to play a few years ago. Ever play that? You set up this big kingdom with wizards and thieves and warriors. . . and tax collectors. But you can't really directly control anyone. The only way to influence your heroes is to set rewards for killing monsters or exploring (they get exp for exploring). Eeeeveryone loves money. [/quote:b925c] I have played it too (still have the game for when I get bored), but there is a fairly simple formula to playing it, and winning well every time, and I can execute that formula fairly well, so it is pretty much boring now. [quote:b925c] (they get exp for exploring) [/quote:b925c] However, it is so insignificant, that, except for Rangers, you'd be better training them elsewhere. |
