Gee thanks I feel so worthy now. As far as I'm concerned LQ's are still rare, I haven't seen one since I was level 22.

My record on pruf was 3 in 1 day. Or 5 in one day if u count individual lq bosses in gauntlet lq. Nightswifts 8 in a day was nuts. I only combat that with doing 9 quests in 45 minutes on courtneycox lol. (Frozen Abyss, sidescroller, lost amulet, goose quest, rachels cat, mist temple, pally quest [forgot name], forest warlock, and westerly forest.) [/quote:ddc98] Kingfry finished some 10 quests in 10 minutes once on Ignignok. Took him long to set it all up though. |

Well, folks are still going to gripe about the early players having it easier to level/get loot back then. and in some cases, its true. There were several glory holes back then, and they sometimes got overused. Many players though wouldn't abuse them, so improved their techniques through the old fashioned way, trial and error. Those are the characters who can now train alts the easiest.
I like the system now much better, more logical, and forces you to spend more time planning the skills your alt is going to need. True, loot is getting harder to come by, but some of the treasure spawned in some areas was ridiculous. Same as for the old great xp areas, did not make any sense. For example Khyasti veggies, and the naga guards. And yes there are drawbacks to either of these, according to your character. Fighters don't destroy loot, but have to buy healing pots, or get non-bungle items to cast healing spells with. The opposite is true for mages, most will destroy alot of loot, but can get xp easier at low levels. Its just the balance involved in the game. The Glory Days have been here everyday on the game, its just what you made of it. |

Just because you take all the quest items to the right npc's in 10 minutes doesn't mean you did all the quests in 10 minuntes. I did all 8 in 45 minutes, start to finish. I'm not saying people can't do it faster, but i did it on a terrible character and without dying once. Ignignok is good, and could most definately beat my quest/minute score, but you have a better chance of hitting the jackpot in the wyvern casino 5 times in a row than doing 10 quests in 10 minutes from start to finish.[/quote:e0bd4] I said finished and I meant finished. Never said anything about doing them all from start to end. |

I was playing in 2003 and 2004 but i have never seen 3 a day... I do however remember HoFers like Kerlaga being somewhat snotty [/quote:f8f44] Hey, I was 12! <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- s --> I know what you mean though, I was really "snotty", for lack of being able to say better terms. |

Re: The GREAT age of Players.
Lol, nah... Wyvern's been pretty consistent, I think, over the years.
I've been around since Sept. '01, and I've watched it change a fair bit. I can't remember whether I dreamed this or whether someone said it, but there were (I think) rumours going about after the soko prizes got diminished that there was gonna be another server where Steve's Wyvern was gonna run and then the retro one, too. But like I said, can't remember whether or not I dreamt it. xD |

Re: The GREAT age of Players.
Curses. I typed a longer-than-Ive-seen-here post, but then... disconnected internet... Well, I lost my post. And since I forgot most of what I typed... Well... I'll type a short version.
In a growing community, there are bound to be younger players with hundreds of questions. And, as its been observed, questions that could easily be answered by themselves with a little time and effort. But sometimes, the answer may be obvious to you, but fustrating for the other player. Patience is needed to retain some form of decency... I've seen it always be encouraged that the player explores himself, and usually the player is helped to find their answer. I've been helped, I've been annoying, I've helped, I've been annoying, I've sacrificed... That reminds me. When one player "wastes money and time," it doesn't have to be a true loss. Besides the lesson that player learns from their misfortune, the lesson learned can always be passed on to other players. Sacrifices have always been made to benifit the younger generation. I hope people continue to help the younger players with their "silly" questions. Besides, earmuffs work quite well if you need them. Then there's the item trade. If items were passed left-and-right, it would deminish the value of that item. The stop of such item trading affects Wyvern positively, and I think, balances the game. I'm sure you all know the term "leeching," so I wont get into that. Besides, with the growing community, if new players grew up with item give-aways and such... Well, I'm sure you all can imagine what problems that may cause. The wizards are making things easier for us (and themselves). Besides, the auction house is a friend in which prices are generally understandable.
