Uploading a GIF Image to the Wyvern Map Editor
I have been trying to finish a bunch of Wyvern maps I have made in the Wyvern map editor lately, but I can't figure out how to get my custom made GIF images into said maps as archtypes. I think all I need to do is be able to save it as an ARCH file, but I am not sure how to do that either. May somebody please help.

arch files are xml files that reference the gif files, you can find many examples in the map editor directories.
example arch file: <arch class="wyvern.kernel.monsters.MonsterImpl"> <image layer="500" path="npc/child"/> </arch> this references the image child.gif in the wyvern/art/game/npc directory within your mapeditor directory. As a wizard you'll want to reference to a file withing your wizard folder. for me this would be something like this: <arch class="wyvern.kernel.monsters.MonsterImpl"> <image path="wiz/valkon/art/monster"/> </arch> |

Ok thank you. I think that answers my question.

So what if it comes up as a gold question mark when attempting to replace an image with a custom image?

Check the img line in the arch file and make sure it's pointing to the correct place, make sure there are no typos and make sure the path/filename doesnt end in .gif (3 most common mistakes) Look through other arch files for examples to help. |
