Strength and Damage
The manual says that smash damage is calculated by 1 point for every 10 strength points over 70. Is damage subtracted if strength is lower than 70? In other words, would a level one pixie do as much damage as a level one human, all other things being equal?

I agree with Gravy. Never trust the manual, except for the basic outline of how things might work. You can especially see this with some of the guilds.

Let me try to ask a bit more clearly. The manual (bare with me here) says:
[quote:f74fa] If you can carry 70 pounds without slowing, your strength is 70, which is the norm for humans in the game. For each 10 strength points above that, you get +1 smash damage on all your hits. So giants, for example, with a strength of 140, get +7 smash damage on all their hits. The Strength skill makes you 10 percent stronger for each point you add to the skill. So if you're a pixie and you train one point, your strength will go from 30 to 33. A giant would go from 150 to 165. This means that 10 points in the skill will double your base strength, and 20 points will triple it. 20 points is the highest the skill can go, even with magical bonuses. [/quote:f74fa] If applied strictly, this means that anyone has to get to 80 strength for any damage bonus. So, with skills and gear equal, a pixie with 30 strength would do the same damage per hit as a human with 70 strength. Is this incorrect? |

Hmm.. I think he's asking if two races (pixie and human) both have 0 strength trained, do they do the same damage? I dont know the answer personally, but w/e.
