Suggestions Post any suggestions for new Wyvern content here that is too complicated to explain in the idea log or that you want to first get feedback on from other players. |

Shout box at the wyvern home page
This is something similar to the "who's online" page, except with shouts.
I'm not talking about something thats super complicated, just a page with a history of shouts (again, just like the "who's online" page, except with a way to shout back). Some people can't access the game client and/or just don't want to log in and sit around MAH...because some people just sit there and take up server space doing something they could do without worrying about getting booted or taking up valuable server space that some players need to actually enjoy the game. |

Wyvern isn't a chatroom. Shouts are provided for ease of use of the players. Allowing you to use them without being online turns the game into such and will lead to a very flooded, chatroom experience. In the future we are going to be more restrictive of shouts, including possibly limiting where you can shout from. Your idea is therefore counterproductive to our plans of encouraging a greater use of tells, private channels, and says - Those auction people you mentioned use says quite a bit and if they don't have to be logged in, they will probably end up taking all of those conversations to shouts.
In the end we realize that there is a socializer class of gamers and we want to meet their needs in a balanced manner (meaning, giving them other options so shouts can be read by everyone without it scrolling by at popular chatroom speeds). Being logged in just to talk is what they find interesting about the game and we have no problem with that. While logged in they will also do other things. They'll sell some items, buy some things, drink some beer, show off via emotes, and they'll even be convinced to go off and do something, possibly with a group. All of this is discouraged with your idea as these people will be less likely to go through the effort of being convinced to do these things (or enjoy the side experiences of the game like emotes) as that requires the extra effort of logging in. |
