Wyvern as a tabletop?

I'm curious, has anyone ever considered using the world of Wyvern as the campaign world for a tabletop RPG like Dungeons and Dragons? Or trying to convert the skill system for use in such a game?

I tend to tip more in the direction of Fantasy than Sci-Fi, so my book is fantasy. Not sure what you define as short. Secret of Dragonhome is somewhere in the 250-300 page range.
