Player's Letter to Rhialto

I took it upon myself to write the first draft to our letter to rhialto to bring back wyvern. But I am no english major and need all your help to finish this. It is a google document, so if anyone wants to add to it they can. Also feel free to fix any grammatical and spelling mistakes made by me or by future additions.

At the bottom there is a place for everyone to sign. You can put your email there, or your name, but I thought emails would work because that is what is used to sign most official online petitions. Also next to your signature feel free to put a short reason of why you love the game or want it to come back. I understand not everyone wants to give our their emails, if that's the case then you can put your character name or just use a junk email.

I am also no artist, if anyone wants to add a title to the letter they may. Be creative!

After a week or so, or when the community feels we have enough signatures I will close the document and share it with Rhialto. If the wizards want to add anything or add any input they may, but we are not asking anything of you because we know you don't want to be involved in the back and forth between Rhialto. But I do ask all of you to please sign!

If anyone has comments or suggestions say them, because this is not my letter it is the players, I just simply wrote a first draft to get us started. Just please be nice to it so I dont have to start backing it up all the time.

Thanks guys! Here is the link to the document:

EDIT: The letter was submitted. http://tinyurl.com/DearRhialto/

EDIT2: Response:

Rhialto - It's a lovely letter. I can't promise anything, but I have started up some discussions about potential solutions.
It helps to know that there are so many people who want it back.

Me - Is there anything you would like me to tell the members of the forums waiting for a response? If you would like to tell them yourself the active forum is http://www.wyvernrpg.com/forum/index.php if not I can convey a message.

Rhialto - You can tell them that everyone at work is so impressed with your letter that they all want to see the game now, and they're pressuring me to take the time to get it back online. So now I can't even avoid it at work. :)

Thank you

Good on you, I have already signed this letter.

It's nice to know that we, the players, are doing something about it.

Rarkvar 01-05-2012 02:18 AM

My brother and myself have sent him various messages to both his emila, google+, and even his youtube account. This won't hurt I suppose.

So weird seeing other people alter the document while you are trying to type something lol. I kept stopping to look at what else was going on in the document.

Rarkvar 01-05-2012 03:10 AM

Sorry about that lol I was typing a nice paragraph about the game haha.

Riordan and Belray I'm sure will sign and most likely add a little of their own to the letter tomorrow morning.

Amazing idea Miah. So far we are up to 19 signatures. Do we want to try to meet a quota of some sorts before we send it out to R? Perhaps wait until we receive at least 50 sigs or wait a certain amount of time (a week or two) so that most lurkers have the chance to sign. Just a thought...

Rarkvar 01-05-2012 01:08 PM

I think 50+ Signatures would be good. I think it should stay up for about a week, maybe two. We don't want to set a maximum signature limit or keep anyone from being able to sign it.

this should be in the front page!

Two versions of the letter ended up being written. The original is the first one and the second one was written by someone else as a parallel letter. Look at them paragraph by paragraph and see what you like in each one, I want to get a final version so we can just focus on signatures and so the document isn't so confusing.

i signed and even added a title i felt was appropriate :) hope you guys get this thing going. i've said a million things so far. :/

This game definitely has support from Riordan, and Bonecrusher. And of course my bro Vesrayech has signed. Let's get Rhialto back in here! :)

binsenkind 01-07-2012 06:15 AM

thank you for starting this letter, i think itīs a good thing.
i doubt there are many games out there where ppl not only are addicted, but also have such a deep, warm and lovefull relation to their favourite game.
i really enjoyed reading the comments and some memories came back.
darn, i rememered how gazers nearly gave me a heart-attache when i was a low level dwarf and rd-ing together with tahuuti.
i was so scared like they were really in my room sitting under my bed :)

Jacksparow 01-07-2012 07:51 AM

haha oh yeah! I remember the gazer in the cave on the way to macabre used to get me everytime, and my goal being to kill him, so every level I got I would go in and try to kill him... But I'd fail and go kill elves again.

Wait at least 2 weeks, it was a complete coincidence I decided to check the forums after some time just now. The letter is a great idea and well written. I'll try to reach Peacy (Peacemaster on forums) or Yana tomorrow, they'd probably like to sign as well, but I'm afraid the contact info listed in his profile here is outdated.

Bullfrogz 01-09-2012 12:15 AM

It's been receiving over five signatures a day, so I have no plans to submit it yet.

JBlak 01-09-2012 01:00 AM

It'll funny if Rhialto himself decides to check the forums now.

Have you gone through the members list to see if any have public emails and contacted players that way?

Xerxes 01-09-2012 02:58 PM

I'm the 53rd signature. Keep going guys!

No I haven't. I would be willing to do that, but since I am no moderator I would have to copy paste all their emails one by one into a mailing list? Or is there another way?

As feedback my suggestions are the following.

-The letter goes to Steve... there is not a Rhialto (change the document name).
-People is signing with ingame names and email (most of those mails look like junk mails anyway), not real names... the traceability is low and a those 55 people could be actually 5 boring guys.
-Many of the quotes of why you liked wyvern actually look like a joke or are just too long.
-Can see lots of "I", "Bring me" and "Love/like". But no one is presenting a project, and expansion idea or bringing the money to the table... basically is asking for something dead to be alive for a while just to see it slowly die again.

Those are the comments i have regarding how i think this letter could be improve. Personally I'm not going to sign it, as this was just a game and it meant a lot more to a couple of wizes that it does for me. Personally, I do not want to help in any way this guy called "Arilou", from my POV he is just a jerk playing around with the few people left in this forum, trying to get his so precious game back under the mask of "i don't care what happens to the game".

This game was not that good, neither that unique, my advise people is to move on and find something else... I do believe Steve is aiming to bigger projects, and at the end of the day this was just a hobby that for him started to end nearly 7 years ago.

Kind regards,
David Galavis ;)
